Joys of the season...

Its starting to feel more like Christmas. I think its the blanket of white snow that is covered everything on Sunday night. Personally, I haven't made (almost) any Christmas preparations yet. Cmon wasn't it just Halloween?

I did make a festive card for The Play Date Cafe color challenge this week

. I waited until last night to make this card, because this challenge was really challenging

. I wouldn't have thought to use those colors together on my own, but i'm actually happy with the way this card turned out. 

Well mostly happy. My wrinkle ribbon was a tad too wrinkly! Look at that funny bow...lol.

I'm too lazy a crafter to re-do it though.

Ink: Ranger Tim Holtz Distress ink in pumice stone and walnut stain.

Glittery snowflake ornaments

I broke out my new plum Cricut Expression last night. You know, I had to test it out. I've been wanting to make these little snowflakes for a while, so thats the first thing I cut.

 I used the back of my 12X12 paper packs. Its a lightweight chipboard, about the same as a cereal box. I layed out all the snowflakes on my gyspy, that way I was able to fit 9-12 snowflakes per 12X12 mat.

I used some spray adhesive to completely coat both side of the snowflakes. It is so much easier than trying to cover them with a liquid adhesive.

Then I picked out some pretty colors of Martha Stewart glitter and went to town.

I decided to hang a few from my red chandelier, since I have yet to put up a tree...(or anything else)

I love how the sun catches all that glittery shine. I love glitter! 

By the way, I used the "When its cold outside" Cricut cartridge for these. If you'd like me to make you some, let me know and I can add some to my new Etsy shop. :)

I love making cards with a lot of layers like this one. So fun, but soo time consuming. The K&Company Yuletide line is great too.

Shabby Christmas

Here is a card I created for a couple of challenges. 

The color scheme is from the CR84FN4 challenge 

(I couldn't get the picture to show the silver music lines going vertically across the card, try squinting...lol)

I just LOVE love love those itty bitty snowflake stamps from Waltzingmouse, they are soo teeny and cute. (Why does tiny always =cute?)

Here are some happy cards :)

Since these cards all use the same supplies I thought I'd just type one up for all of them :)

Patterned paper on all cards is from the Cosmo Cricket Garden collection. Cardstock is from Papertrey Ink. Aqua Ribbon is from Papertrey Ink.

Bakers Twine is from the Twinery. Pom-pom trim is from walmart. All Dies and stamps are from PTI. Stickers are october afternoon-farm fresh.

The color scheme of these cards remind me of a retro kitschy kitchen... Something about those colors just make me happy :) 

I realize that my pictures are not the greatest. Anyone want to teach an online photography for dummies class? I could use some help.

This last card is not my favorite... something about it bugs me. But oh well. I spent way too long coloring that silly basket to just let it sit unloved. 

Its pretty obvious that I used a lot of the same supplies on all these cards. Thats how I roll. I like to stamp several of the same images, leisurely color them in, and set them aside. I cut everything up and keep them in my "element buckets" (these are sorted by theme) when i'm ready to create a card I just pick an element from the bucket and match it up with papers and go from there. Occasionally I create a card from start to finish in one go... but mostly I just like to piece things together from pre-made, prepared, pre-stamped stuff (was that redundant?). Its easier on my mojo. (yes, I said mojo)

I hope that made sense. That was a lot of words.

Better Late....than never?

So I know Halloween was like a whole 2 weeks ago.... BUT I didn't have a camera then, so here are a couple of my Halloween cards.

I also used a fiskars border punch

For this one I used my cricut expression with the happy hauntings cartridge. I embossed the coredination paper with my cuttlebug, then sanded.

This card was made from Graphic 45 halloween papers, a couple glitter stars I made and some seam binding. 

I used the cricut for this card too. The cartridge was a child's year.

Sorry about my lame product descriptions...I'll be more thorough when my kids aren't dumping cereal on the floor. :)
