Hi friends, Its been a little while since I've posted, but i'm back with a Halloween project for the Wee Memories' 71st challenge.

Can you guess what the challenge theme might be this week?....

Halloween! Sweet eh? I love Halloween, love it! Halloween and Christmas are my favorite holidays to decorate for. I haven't brought out all my fall/Halloween decorations yet, (they're in the crawl space, and I don't go in there....spooky!;) so I made this fun banner. I used papers from Papertrey Ink to make the double layered medallions and I used my Cricut to cut out the pumpkins and the letters. Its pretty simple to make, although the scoring and folding of the medallions might make your hands cramp, and your eyes cross...Maybe. 

Here's a trick to get all that glitter to stay on. I used spray adhesive and did two layers of glitter, then I sprayed some hairspray over the glitter to keep it from crumbling off.

ETA- The larger medallion is 6 inches across. I used four 3x8 paper strips for the larger ones and two 2x8 strips for the smaller ones. The patterned paper pad was 8x8.

P.S.- I'll tell you about my project...Its not a card! Crazy huh?! I decided to make a little Halloween home decor. Eventually (hopefully before Halloween) I'll find a cute little frame to stick it in. I used some paper scraps from Cosmo Cricket, Papertrey Ink, and Crate Paper. The large subway sentiment stamp is from Purple Onions *seriously love those!!* The mason jar and pumpkins are from Papertrey Ink. I apologize for my awful pictures lately..I've been taking them at night *Gasp!* ;o)

Christmas village

I finally got around to taking some pictures today! Here are the little house I painted, glittered, and embellished for Christmas.

 yep, thats a glittery dove...

I forgot (was too lazy) to put mica flakes on the "ground" part of the house, so i'll be doing that next year when I take them out again. 

Joyful

I made this joyful Christmas banner to hang on a lonely wall that is waiting for me to finish some shelves....

The gingerbread man shapes were cut using my Cricut Expression and the "In my Kitchen" cartridge.

 I did a brave thing (for me) and cut up some of my very favorite paper, October Afteroon's "Very Merry" paper collection. I love love love the pretty patterns and colors. 

Each gingerbread man is made up of one layer of Papertrey Ink kraft cardstock and one layer of patterned paper. The cardstock makes it sturdier. 

 

 I made the crepe paper medallions using party steamers... The letters were cut using the Country life cricut cartridge. They were glittered with german glitter glass. I had to use a lot of glossy accents to get that glitter to stick. 

I sewed seam binding ribbon to each gingerbread man arm and tied them all together in bows.

Voila, C'est fini!

Sneaky peeky

So here's something i've been working on lately. I'm not yet finished, but here's a peek.

I wish I could capture with my camera just how sparkly these are. You'll have to take my word for it.

Confessions

I have a confession to make.... Umm... ya... Okay....soooooo....

 I spent the last 3 hours browsing quilting blogs. 

Yikes, I said it. 

I like fabric, I love patterns and colors and quilts and pretty things. I love fabric like I love patterned paper. You know how you have like...84million pounds of patterned paper? (yea me too.) Well I have a small fabric stash too. The problem is I don't really sew enough to justify my pile.

Sooo browsing all that inspiration I decided that I really only need 3 hours of sleep a night. (I mean, who really NEEDS sleep?...?...okay I do because if I don't sleep I get uber super duper grumpy, just ask Josh.) And then I can make cards, and banners, and home decor AND quilts and aprons and cute clothes for my kids. Yep. 

Oh and first things first I need to make this fabulous shower curtain I found browsing Moda's bakeshop.

Isn't that the funnest, girliest, prettiest, ruffleist, most amazing shower curtain ever? 

Okay, I'm going to be grumpy tomorrow, and I have way too much to do for that. Sooooo off to bed I am. 

Glittery snowflake ornaments

I broke out my new plum Cricut Expression last night. You know, I had to test it out. I've been wanting to make these little snowflakes for a while, so thats the first thing I cut.

 I used the back of my 12X12 paper packs. Its a lightweight chipboard, about the same as a cereal box. I layed out all the snowflakes on my gyspy, that way I was able to fit 9-12 snowflakes per 12X12 mat.

I used some spray adhesive to completely coat both side of the snowflakes. It is so much easier than trying to cover them with a liquid adhesive.

Then I picked out some pretty colors of Martha Stewart glitter and went to town.

I decided to hang a few from my red chandelier, since I have yet to put up a tree...(or anything else)

I love how the sun catches all that glittery shine. I love glitter!
