Its been a while

Since i've posted eh?
Well I haven't been crafting much lately, but I do have some cards to show you. I made them a couple of weeks ago and just got some time to take pictures of them. I used up some more K&Company scraps, and also sneaked in some Crate Paper paper... fun huh?

I've been busy busy, and lazy lazy. And feeling the blahs... It seems like lately all I have the energy (motivation) to do is take care of my kiddos and my house(barely).... I did get to sit down today and make a fun little project for the Shabby Tea Room (Check my blog tomorrow night for that one!) and it felt good to sit down and create. I DID want to make more, and I had all these ideas running through my head but before I knew it, my kids had woken up from their nap. Maybe if i'm not too pooped(where's the propriety?! I know..!) i'll get to cut, glue, and embellish. Anyway, I know you're here to see the cards sooooo....... ;o)

Oh yes, don't forget to check back tomorrow night for The Shabby Tea Room post, its a good one ;o)

A couple of tags

Hi friends, sorry I've been a little MIA here on the blog....been busy with life, you know how it goes...spring cleaning, kids, kids, kids, cleaning... ;o)
I do have a few more cards to show you but today its time for The Shabby Tea Room challenge!
This week's challenge is to use butterflies on your card or project! Fun!
For the tag above, I used a digi stamp (Lilly and Leo) from this week's sponsor, Stamp Fairy. I wanted to stay with the style of the drawing so I kept everything pretty clean and fresh...which I think turned out pretty well! ;o)
I colored the little girl with Copic markers, and gave her dress some little polka dots. The patterned paper you see at the bottom of the tag is from Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe. Love LOVE that collection!

I thought I would try something different this week, since I usually only make cards.
So I dressed up this little kraft pocket and manila tag! It was fun to have a different 'canvas' to work with, and you'll be seeing more things like this from me in the future!
Anyway, for this tag I used stamps from Maya Road (doilies), PTI (sentiment), and Prima (butterfly), I also used some Emma's Shoppe Crate Paper scrap, velvet ribbon, and Martha Stewart doily.

The tag inside the pocket was stamped with more doilies, I left it just like that so I can write a message on it. I'm really in love with the color combo I used this week...dark pink, aqua, turquoise... its so fresh!

Easter Stripes

Hi friends! Its time for the weekly challenge at the Shabby Tea Room. This week's challenge is hosted by Charlene, and she thought it would be fun if we all used pastels and stripes on your card or project.

Since this week's sponsor is The Ribbon Reel, I thought it would be fun to use a lot of yummy ribbon on my card. I didn't want to overwhelm my card with too much ribbon, so I just used a pretty Spellbinders shape to cut the ribbon panel. I kept the rest of the card simple so the fun ribbon stripes could be the star of the show.

I couldn't resist stamping that little bunny, from Papertrey Ink's Place Please stamp set, inside the card again.

The Shabby Girls created some amazing projects this week, so be sure to visit their blogs too.

Overflow

Here are some cards I made in this past week...

I've been trying to use up my supplies, as they are taking over my house! I'm thinking of selling some of my stuff...if you've sold extra supplies online, where did you do it? Did you have a problem selling 12x12paper because of shipping?
Thanks in advance!

Just for you

As promised, here's one of the cards I made the other day... I made this one for the CR84FN color challenge. This week's colors are brown green and kraft.

I used a bird embellishment from K&Company and stamps by Papertrey Ink. The papers are PTI, Prima, and Melissa Frances. The flower is from a vintage necklace I found a few years ago.
I've really been experimenting with my photos, I think i'm getting closer... what do you think?
Thanks for visiting!

Little Lamb

Hi there! Here's my card for this week's Shabby Tea Room challenge. I used a digital stamp from this week's sponsor Robyn's Fetish. The stamp I used is called Lily Lamb
I used a photoshopping (I know..I make up words..) program to lighten the stamp for a softer look. I then did some textured shading with a couple of gray Copic markers...after that was done I used some distressing ink to age the and distress the little lamb image for a more vintage look.

Be sure to check out all the inspiration from the Shabby Girls-

and stay tuned because I crafted up a storm this weekend trying to chase down the ol' mojo... so I have lots of cards to show!

Happy Thursday.

You mean the world to me.

Its time for another challenge at The Shabby Tea Room! This one is actually hosted by me! The challenge is to use the colors from the inspiration photo AND use flowers somewhere in your project or card. I used a flower that I got on clearance at Michaels as the focal point. You'll also find another one of  those vintage molded button I made on the shabby bow...

I used Just Rite's Kindness, Fancy Labels, and Friendship Blooms cling stamp sets to create this card...
The background pattern was created using the decorative circle frame from Friendship blooms along with the smaller medallion.

I then stacked the Spellbinders label 18 coordinating stamps from Friendship Blooms and Fancy Labels. I don't have the Spellbinders die yet, so I just cut it out by hand.
Finally I stamped the smallest label from Fancy Labels in light pink and over it the sentiment from Kindness.
I used ink and water to distress the background for a softer, shabbier feel.

Thanks for visiting...I hope you decide to play along with this week's challenge. Here's some more inspiration for you from the other Shabby Girls...

I also entered this card in Just Rite's 'Kindness' challenge. The prize is pretty amazing and includes the Vintage   Oval Labels cling stamp sets I've had my eye on... this set is absolutely scrumptious!

P.S. Sorry about the yucky pictures lately...I need to play around and find a better spot to photograph my cards. I don't really feel like my photos are a good representation of what my cards are really like in real life. They seem so flat and the colors are slightly off...boohooo.... you know me- I'm a whiner....;o)  I'm also going to blame Windows 7 for removing the 'fix' option on their photo viewer (that was the easiest way to edit photos for me! I feel lost when doing it on paint.net) If you have any pointers for me and my sorry skills I'd love to hear them...Thanks friends.

Mr and Mrs

Hi there friends! Here's a little something I created for Get Sketchy's weekly challenge.

I used some papers from Sasafrass Lass' Sweetly Smitten line. Love the vintage retro feel to these.. I kept it simple and I really like how this turned out.

On your special day

So I promised that I would be working on some wedding card. I think this counts as one right? Technically 'special day' could be ANY special day but this one is elegant, and wedding like. So... its a wedding card.

I was inspired by this week's color combo challenge at CR84FN... the pictures they choose are always very inspiring and lovely!

The flower and vintage inspired label are from K&Company's Flora and Fauna line. They're been living here for a little bit, but this time I actually took them out and used them. I love how K&Company has the die cut packs to match their lines, they're my favorite product!
I used a Just Rite sentiment on the label... (I won my first sets of Just Rite stamps at the Shabby Tea Room a few weeks ago- yippee!) I really like the elegant fonts they use for their sentiments.
The seam binding is from a batch that I dyed with shimmer mist.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your Tuesday evening.... (Its Glee night!)

Button baby

Hi there! This week's challenge at The Shabby Tea Room is a fun one. All you have to do is pick 3 blocks in a row (think bingo) and create with the elements listed in the blocks. I chose the middle horizontal row, but since I used ribbon (I can't not use ribbon) and gems my card also worked for the last vertical row.
This weeks' sponsor is Pixie Dust Paperie, so be sure to play along to be eligible to win their great prize.

Here is my glitter and flower...so pretty to me! I just sprinkles some chunky glitter on a millinery flower.

And of course, buttons! I used PTI vintage buttons and some buttons that I made myself, using a mold. (I have lots of those molded buttons so you'll be seeing more soon..)
I realized that I haven't made ANY baby cards... (well I did make one but never posted it here) but still, i've made ONE baby card... and NO Wedding specific cards, so i'm going to be focusing on those two types of cards for a little bit. Although I can't help but create Easter cards too right now...so Easter, weddings, and babies. ;o)

Alright now hop on over to the other Shabby Girls' blogs for more inspiration...

More vintage Easter...

I stayed up entirely too late (early!?) again last night, and here's a card I made during my moonlight crafting.
I was inspired by the color combo at The Play Date Cafe, and all those lovely vintage Easter images at the Graphics Fairy. I thought the image I used went perfectly with those lovely colors.

Well I better run...
Wish me luck, I have to remove a whole bottle of pink nail polish to remove from my bedroom window and window sill. Whoo hoo! Kids, gotta love 'em....
(happy Saturday)
