Hello Sunshine

 Hello Tuesday evening. Here's a card I made yesterday and just now had a chase to post. The sentiment it appropriate for today, we had some lovely sunshine weather. It was actually warm and when we went outside we weren't afraid of our lungs freezing. Could it be something like spring?

Well, I'm not feeling wordy (thank me later) but I will tell you that this gorgeous color combo came from CR84FN #15

For some reason, the green ribbon looks darker in the photos...IRL its closer to the green in the polka dots.

Chocolate Love

 Whats with me and chocolate lately? I'm not sure but this chocolate thing is not limited to papercrafting, last week when I was grocery shopping I bought a bag of Toffee and Almond Nuggets and guess what, they are gone. Yikes!

So this card came pretty naturally to me....;o)

It was inspired by this picture at The Shabby Tea Room

   

The challenge also included the use of hearts.

What a cute  set in the photo! I love wooden play food...my kids have a whole arsenal of Melissa and Doug play food. But be aware that wooden toys are heavy weapons. I've kissed a few boo-boos inflicted by some of these toys. My kids' favorite set is the Melissa and Doug donuts. I'll let you in on a little secret...I mostly buy these because I love them (shhh)..

I had such a hard time picking my favorite pictures of this card, so you get a few more than usual. I am a little picture-happy in general, I think. When I look at other people's blogs I just enjoy looking at the pictures the most. A lot of the time I will click on the photo to enlarge it, I love taking in all those tiny details that make the project. 

 The above picture shows the dimension on the card, thats so hard to capture with a straight on shot. I used pop dots to adhere the tag, and then also  to adhere the chocolate yumminess. 

I used Martha Stewart clear glitter on the cakes and chocolate. It reminds me of sugar. 

 I used the Get Sketchy sketch# 73 for the layout, again. Fun Fun. 

A special occasion collage.

Yes, its another one of those flowers! I told you they were so fun to make. I made this one out of Fine Linen PTI cardstock, and then misted it with Pink Bubblegum Shimmer Mist when it was still all closed up. I love how it looks when you fold down the petals. Be prepared to see lots of these in the future.

I'm entering this card in the "Get Creative" Shabby Tea Room challenge.

I stamped the background, first with the flowers in Chai ink, then the flourishes in black, and last the pink polka dots. The birdie was also stamped with tiny polka dots. I also stamped the birdie and the stamp die cut.

I'm also entering this card in the Just Us Girls sketch challenge this week. The essence of the sketch was that the embellishments were concentrated in one corner of the card. I really like this look.

 Wee Memories' challenge this week is to use your scraps. I used only scraps (exept the flower) to make this card. I have a bucket die cut scraps that I keep around...sometimes I don't feel like making a card but I still want to play so I get out the cricut or cuttlebug and cut some shapes. Sometimes I just don't use everything I cut out for my project, so in the bucket it goes. It feels good to purge that stash sometimes. I need to create from that bucket more often.

Last but not least, I'm also entering this as another submission for The Shabby Tea Room design team call.

This being the inspiration photo. I went the pink/black/cream route again. Love those colors.

Celebrate this day

See that pretty flower? I made it!I found this amazing flower tutorial on Joanne L's blog , and I wanted to try it right away. (I also fell in love with her blog, her cards are beautiful)
I sat down and made 3 flowers, they were so fun to make that I could have made 20 had I the time. I did find a little trick that made them easier for me, I sprayed each layer of the flower individually before I put the flower together on the brad. That made it easier because I did't have dry spots to keep spraying  and I didn't over wet the rest of the flower while spraying the dry spots. Your layers might dry a little while you're folding and scrunching, but re-wetting them is super fast and just needs a spray or two with your mini mister.

Anyway, who knew I would be so long winded today?

Sooo  remember how I made this card for the ColorQ challenge but then I found out that the challenge was over? Well this week I'm ahead of the game. I have my card for the ColorQ done. HA! Okay, its just a small victory for me. It so happens that their colors this week, and the inspiration picture had me so inspired I couldn't wait. I love this color combo. I used some Papertrey Ink Berry Sorbet paper, and its the first time that I use this color, but I LOVE it. A lot. I'm doing this again. (I always say that but I mean it!)

I found some Basic Grey Nook and Pantry paper that had just the right colors in it, and with the flower I was ready to go.
I bet you recognize this layout, its kind of like the "Sunshine in my soul" card  I posted a couple days ago. Its the same layout from Wee Memories. Love that sketch, its so flexible and easy to work with!

Cupid cupid

Its my first time playing over at the Color Cue, I love this color combination and I this color combo, I could make cards with this combo forever!

I used my cricut to cut out the little cupid. I had fun layering the different pattern papers too.

I also entered this card in Crazy4Challenges72, this weeks challenge was to create something shabby chic.

A little Glam a little Shabby Chic a lot of girlie-ness

 

 I linked this card to a couple of challenges for this week.

Moxie Fab World's "Gray is the new black"  challenge was to use the color gray in an innovative way. 

I don't ordinarily use gray a whole lot, but I really do like the look and i'm definitely going to do it again.

The other challenge was a Wee Memories challenge to use ribbon. Now thats a challenge I can handle. :)

I even used two different types of ribbon, the pink seam binding ribbon, and the black pompom trim ribbon.

Light and Bright

Can I just say that I love this card? I do.

 I made it for The Shabby Tea Room collor challenge. 

The challenge was to use white and or cream and only one additional color. 

 I used my Cricut Expression again to cut out the cream colored doily looking shape that the flower is sitting on. I love that blue flower, I only had 1 blue one in my jar. So sad, but i'm making progress in the hoarding department!

Three more cards inspired by 1 Moxie Fab collor challenge.

 On this card I tried a technique iv'e seen, for the first time. I love how it turned out. Altough don't let me fool you, that x-acto knife and I had to fight it out.

The challenge if you haven't guessed it yet was the Pretty Pastel color challenge.

 

I couldn't stop layering on this one. Can you tell? I got to use a bunch of goodies though, like WMS music background stamp, border punches, spellbinders die, lace, buttons...ect

I used ink and my heat tool to age the edges of the paper. If you try this be very careful not to keep the heat tool in one place too long... It might catch fire. But you know that don't you.

The cricut did all the work cutting out the card base for this one. I love that shape so much.

 The punny valentine images are from a sheet of patterned paper I found at Hobby Lobby (or Michaels?) a while ago.

Valentine

This romantic valentine was inspired by the color challenge at CR84FN.

I used my cricut to cut out that decorative heart, then I glittered it. Its hard to capture clear glitter, can you see it?

Birthday Banner card

I finally broke into my PTI "library ledger" patterned paper....I love love love that aqua polka dot paper. Love it.  I don't know why I dread cutting into paper I love, I mean thats what its for right?

This card was made for one of my favorite challenges, The Play Date Cafe.



Its hard to tell that theres any demention in the straight on picture...

I'm really loving that PTI banner set, its so much fun.

Here's another flower garden-y card with that DCWV paper. This time the focal point of my card is a handmade embellishment made by yours truly ;). The fancy mangifying glass chipbboard like piece of course!

I cut the shape out with my cricut about 5 times and adhered them all together, to make it thick like chipboard. I really love the dimension it gives to the card. I then glittered the hek out of it. You know I like doing that.

...simply hello

Soooo.... I made this card a while ago with my gypsy and cricut. I can't remember what cartridges I used (sorry). I think I used accent essential, and.....? I'm sure you'll recognize the shapes.Everything was cut with the cricut... the card itself, the tiny bird, the flourish, the mats the sentiment is sitting on...okay I did say everything, silly me. 

The papers are all DCVW from I the mariposa and crafty stacks...If i'm remembering right.

I bought the crochet trim at Joanns, it was one of the "by the yard" laces. I inked it a bit with some Tim Holtz antique linen.

I stamped the sentiment (Papertrey Ink-mega mixed messages) and then used some Tim Holtz Rock Candy Distress Stickles over the top. I kind of distressed all the edges with my scissors, for a more tattered vintage look.

On the inside of the card, I used the flourish that you see on the front (before I adhered it to the front) as a mask. I made up my own glimmer mist with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink re-inker and gold perfect pearls. I just added a few drops of the re-inker and put a tiny scoop of the perfect pearls into a ranger mini mister, then filled with water. You can't see it in the picture but its really very shimmery. 

Lately I've been doing a lot more stamping (thanks to a PTI addiction) and so my poor little cricut is sorely neglected. I was looking through my cards and found this one, and it reminded me that I can make a whole card with just my cricut and still achieve that shabby or vintage look I love so much. I really need to take it out and use it more! I really do love that machine.
